Centerpoint

Centerpoint is a 16-bed intensive residential treatment program dedicated to supporting emotionally disturbed adolescent males. Accredited by the Joint Commission and licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health, Centerpoint focuses on the treatment, rehabilitation, and safe reintegration of youth with mental illness and challenging behaviors. Our program offers a secure environment where adolescent males can receive comprehensive therapeutic care tailored to their highly intensive psychological and behavioral needs.

Program Overview

Centerpoint provides a secure, clinically intensive residential program designed to foster growth and enhance coping skills while safely managing challenging behaviors and the acute symptoms of major psychiatric disorders. Our goal is to help each youth achieve optimal psychological and social development, preparing them to transition into less restrictive settings and eventually reintegrate into the greater community.

Clinical Services

Centerpoint offers a range of clinical services, including individual, group, and family therapy, as well as psychopharmacology when appropriate. Our clinical approach focuses on helping residents develop mature, adaptive behaviors through ongoing assessments that guide and support treatment interventions. Families are encouraged to actively participate in the treatment process, which is centered on fostering safer, more adaptive coping mechanisms.

Educational Services

Educational services at Centerpoint are provided by Collaborative Educational Services under the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). Each resident follows an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) tailored to their needs, allowing them to continue academic progress, address any educational gaps, and maximize their cognitive potential.

Residential Services

The therapeutic environment at Centerpoint is designed to stabilize behaviors that necessitate a secure setting. Residents are encouraged to explore the life experiences that have led to self-defeating behaviors and to gradually take on more responsibility and independence. Our clinically oriented milieu, supported by a multidisciplinary team and a robust recreational program, promotes health, well-being, and personal growth.
